Pembuatan Paving Block Berbahan Sampah Plastik untuk Mendukung Pengelolaan Lingkungan Desa Darat Sawah, Kecamatan Kelam Tengah, Kabupaten Kaur

Darat Sawah, Kecamatan Kelam Tengah, Kabupaten Kaur Village faces the problem of plastic waste piles polluting the surrounding environment due to the lack of comprehensive domestic waste treatment. This research aims to examine the manufacturing of construction materials made from polymer waste as an alternative solution for reducing community inorganic residue volume. A descriptive qualitative approach is applied through participatory observation and structured interviews with village officials and self-help groups. The activity results show a significant increase in residents' understanding regarding household waste segregation after attending intensive counseling. The resulting molded materials possess adequate hardness for rural pedestrian walkway usage. The utilization of these polymer residues provides a dual impact in the form of residential area cleanliness while opening new micro-scale entrepreneurial opportunities. Active citizen participation becomes the key success factor for the pollutant-free rural ecosystem sustainability program. Local government support is urgently needed to expand the mass production scale of these economically valuable recycled products.
